I published my first book back in 1999. I was writing a series about Visual Basic for a magazine called ‘Programming World,’ and a very famous publisher at the time contacted me. It was a great opportunity. I had just gotten married, and our first child wasn’t born yet. I still clearly remember when I received my very first book royalty.

A Magic Mirror is a cool project that shows different information using a half-mirror film and a screen. It began as an open-source project. You can actually find commercial products based on this idea if you search for them. Even if you don’t use the open-source code, there are plenty of ways to make your own.

I published my book through Bookk, a Korean self-publishing platform.

You can do a lot of cool projects with Arduino because it’s an open platform. Its biggest plus is that you can use all kinds of sensors. I was looking up sensors and ended up making a simple project where an Arduino avoids obstacles. I usually make software that only works on a screen, so it was a neat opportunity to see something move in real life. This book was published through Amazon KDP.”

I put together the stories from my life—especially from living overseas—and made a book. They started as diary entries and casual notes, and I thought it would be a waste to just leave them hidden away. It’s an essay book about what I experienced and felt back then in France, Germany, and Taiwan.”

At the request of an acquaintance, I wrote a textbook for a one-week course on Robotic Process Automation (RPA), filled with various Python codes. RPA was all the rage just a while ago, but with the rise of AI, nobody really talks about it anymore. It’s only been two years—who could’ve known things would change this much?
